Children & Families
COVID HAS PAUSED OUR YOUTH AND NURSERY MINISTRIES UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
SUNDAY SCHOOL FOR K - GRADE 3 MEET AT 10 AM IN THE SUNDAY SCHOOL ROOM LOCATED IN THE MAIN SANCTUARY. We will engage the congregation in a discussion about these all-important ministries as part of our REGATHER.RECLAIM.REBUILD STEWARDSHIP CAMPAIGN. SHARED BELOW IS PRE-COVID DESCRIPTION OF OUR MINISTRY TO FAMILIES Saint Mary’s seeks to make a relationship with Christ real and tangible for our children. Through our teachings, we invite the children to develop a solid foundation of Biblical knowledge while encouraging them to share in our parish mission statement: “FAITH.FAMILY.FRIENDS” Nursery Facilities St. Mary’s has a strong commitment to families on Sunday. Our nursery is available during Adult Bible Study and the 10 o’clock worship service. That is, it is open from 9:00 AM to the conclusion of the 10 o’clock service at approximately 11:15 AM. We have facilities for all ages from babies to primary school. Our nursery is in the main church building. When you walk into the church building, follow the hall on the right side of the sanctuary to the nursery. One of our greeters or ushers will help you find it. Our care providers all have safeguarding training, and are experienced with all ages of children. They will be happy to answer any questions. Sunday School (Kindergarten – Grade 5) We have an active and lively Sunday school program. Saint Mary’s parents volunteer to assist our children in learning Bible lessons through arts & crafts, games, music, and videos which together make for a fun learning environment. Youth Program (Grades 6 – 12) Saint Mary’s Youth Ministry is programming for grades six through twelve. SMY’s direct focus is to assist parents’ efforts to prepare our young people for the challenges presented growing up in today’s society. SMY normally meets on second and fourth Sundays in the “Youth Room”. Acolyte Corps Our acolyte teams, comprised of youth in grades 3-12, serve Sunday at the 10:00 AM service and at Holy Day services throughout the year Saint Mary’s Episcopal Day School Saint Mary’s Episcopal Day School is a ministry of Saint Mary’s Episcopal Church and was founded in 1953 by a rector and a dedicated group of parents who saw the need for a church-affiliated school with a strong academic environment. Emphasis is placed on attracting top-level faculty members who combined their teaching skills with a desire to offer individualized attention to each student.
