Altar Guild
The Altar Guild team works diligently to prepare the altar and set our table all worship services. Music Music is an essential component of our 10 a.m. Rite II worship service. Our organ is the Rodgers Model 950, a digital instrument that simulates the sound of a mid-sized pipe organ while providing the flexibility and versatility of an electronic instrument. We regularly have a guitar, violin, and a piano as well providing a blend of traditional hymns and contemporary songs. Brass musicians or string students from St, Mary's are added on special occasions to enhance our worship. Choir While we do not have a formalized choir, any member of the parish may join in leading the worship service together with the musical accompaniment. Our worship songs are a variety of sacred music, from traditional Anglican anthems to more contemporary selections. There is a brief rehearsal right before the service to go over the music. Ushers Ushers greet each person as they enter the church. They give out the bulletins and answer any questions from visitors. They provide the friendly welcome and warmth that St. Mary's wants everyone to experience in our church. Lectors (Readers) Lectors read the Lessons each Sunday with clarity and help to enliven the word of God during our worship together. Eucharistic Ministers Eucharistic Ministers are licensed by the bishop to assist the priest at the altar and with administration of the host and wine to the congregation. They may also serve as acolytes in carrying the cross during procession, lighting the candles, handling the collection plates, ringing the bells during communion, and bringing the communion articles to the priest. |
