Statements of Core Values
As the people of Saint Mary’s, we value:
Faith - Our worship is Christ-centered: we actively seek and find His presence in ourselves, our neighbor, and the world. As Episcopalians, we are committed to an Anglican tradition that is both rooted in Scripture and discerned in community. In response to God’s call to proclaim the Good News of God in Christ, we commit to finding creative and engaging ways to be a beacon of light, hope, and love to all.
Community - We strive to be a nurturing Christian community and a spiritual home for all who seek God’s redeeming love. We are committed to being an open, welcoming, and diverse congregation. In this way, we are disciples called to create ever-widening circles of fellowship.
Education - The cornerstone of our parish is to educate from a place of love. We endeavor to nurture the development of every member of our church and school. We are committed to the spiritual growth of all those God has set in our midst. Through our commitment to spiritual formation as a lifelong pursuit, we continuously seek to grow in the knowledge and love of the Lord.
Family - We are all part of God’s family, and all are welcome. Families are the heartbeat of our parish. We embrace and celebrate every family. We are dedicated to nurturing faith, hope, and joy in the Lord among families in our church and school and beyond our campus. In demonstrating this commitment, we love and support one another during ordinary days and extraordinary moments.
Service - Service is our faith in action. In the name of a loving God, we seek to love the Lord our God with all our hearts, souls, minds and strength, and love our neighbors as ourselves. In faithfulness to our call to serve, we participate in spreading God’s mercy and grace into the world.
